Gathel Louise Allen Collett, age 84, a resident of Board Tree Road in Salyersville, Kentucky; passed away Wednesday , June 7, 2023 at her home peacefully with family and friends with her.
Gathel was born January 22, 1939 in Salyersville, Kentucky the daughter of the late Willard and Carrie Mae Burton Allen. Husband, Dewey Earlen Collett, and son, Steve Earlen Collett, also preceded in death.
Gathel loved being with her family and friends. She loved her flowers, being outdoors, and playing cards in her free time.
Those left to mourn includes, three sons, Jerry Lynn Collett and wife Dora of Salyersville, Kentucky, Ronnie Edward Collett and wife Kathy of Lexington, Kentucky, Dewey Willard Collett and wife Darlene of Nabb, Indiana, three daughters, Berta Ruth Ward and husband Chuck of Martin, Kentucky, Alta Mae Collett of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, Frankie Collett and Gary “Rooster” Risner of West Liberty, Kentucky, brother, David C. Allen of Salyersville, Kentucky, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, special friend and cousin, Debra Roark, a host of family and friends who love and miss her.
Funeral services for Gathel Collett will be conducted Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home in Salyersville, Kentucky. Clergy Dallas Patrick, Larry Patrick, and Johnny Reed will deliver comforting words on the day of funeral services. Interment will follow in the Collett Family Cemetery on Board Tree in Salyersville, Kentucky. The family will welcome friends Friday, June 9, after 5:00 PM and anytime prior to funeral services.
