SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County will once again include weightlifting meets and combines as part of its offseason conditioning program.
The John DeRossett-coached Hornets finished 2-2 in Class 3A, District 8 during the 2023 high school football season. Magoffin County placed third in Class 3A, District 8. Then, following its third-place finish in District 8, Magoffin County advanced to the KHSAA Class 3A State Football Playoffs.
Magoffin County is scheduled to start its conditioning program at 3 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024. The Hornets’ offseason conditioning program will be open to high school and middle school student-athletes.
Several experienced players are due to return for Magoffin County in the 2024 high school football season. And Magoffin County is looking to add newcomers to its team.
Magoffin County will finalize and release its 2024 schedule later in the offseason.
