SALYERSVILLE — Among the state’s top young rushers, Magoffin County freshman running back Blake Wireman is on pace to rush for over 1,000 yards in the 2024 high school football season.
Wireman has made a smooth transition from middle school to high school. As a freshman, Wireman is already among the leaders for his high school football team.
Wireman is leading Magoffin County on the ground. The productive Wireman is averaging 113.8 yards and one touchdown per game for the Hornets. Wireman has rushed 61 times for 455 yards and four touchdowns in four games.
A consistent performer, Wireman rushed 16 times for a season-high 156 yards in Magoffin County’s game versus Leslie County on Friday, Sept. 6.
Wireman has taken double digit carries out of Magoffin County’s offensive backfield in each of the Hornets’ first four games in the 2024 high school football season.
As a team, Magoffin County is averaging 211.5 yards and 2.2 touchdowns on the ground per game. Magoffin County has rushed 159 times for 846 yards and nine touchdowns in four games. The Hornets are averaging 18.5 total points per game.
