BLOOD DRIVE NOVEMBER 8

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Winter is just around the corner, which means it’s time to stock the shelves and ensure local hospitals have the lifesaving blood products they need no matter what Old Man Winter has in store.

The winter season can disrupt blood collections because of weather cancellations and an uptick in illnesses. Proactive blood donation at Kentucky Blood Center drives like this one in your community are vital to a healthy blood supply.

Magoffin County Community
Friday, Nov. 8 from 1–5:30 p.m.
First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall
134 Dixie Ave
Salyersville, KY 41465

All donors will receive a KBC T-shirt for donating blood. This drive will feature an “Eat, Donate, Hibernate, Repeat” T-shirt as a nod to what’s most essential in the winter months.

Consistent blood donation is essential to maintaining a healthy blood supply for KBC’s 70-plus hospitals. Blood is an everyday need and cannot be manufactured. To serve local patients, donors must step up.

Blood donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health, show a photo I.D. and meet additional requirements. Sixteen-year-old donors must have a signed parental permission slip, which can be found at kybloodcenter.org.

Appointments are preferred but walk-ins are welcome. To schedule a donation, visit kybloodcenter.org or call 800.775.2522.
