Bobby Montgomery, 56, went home to be with Jesus on January 15,2022. He passed away peacefully from his home in Waller, TX, after a long heroic battle with brain cancer. Bobby was born on April 15, 1965 in Salyersville Kentucky. The 10th child of 12 children to Ellis and Arzella Barnett Montgomery.
Survived by his wife Dana Montgomery of Waller, TX. Daughters, Danielle Montgomery of Cypress, TX and Katie Montgomery of Seattle, WA., Vivian Montgomery of Apopka, FL., David Montgomery of Tampa, FL., Diane Montgomery of Lexington KY., John & sister-in-law Annette Montgomery of Montague, MI. Brother, Larry & sister-in law Sue Montgomery of Bulter, IN. , Wanda & brother-in-law, Larry Burton of Salyersville, KY. , Rick and sister-in-law Tina Montgomery of Wittensville, KY. Kaye & brother-in-law Gary Allen of Salyersville, KY. Linda & brother-in-law Dean Ball of West Liberty, KY. And lots of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Preceded in death by his parents Ellis & Arzella Montgomery, half-sister Wanda Sue Montgomery and brother Eddie Montgomery. As a youth, he played basketball winning the district with his teammates. He enjoyed spending time with his sisters and brothers hunting, fishing, exploring caves, catching crawdads, frog gigging and camping in the woods of Kentucky. He and his family lived in Fort Wayne Indiana on and off a few times.
In 1982 Bobby moved to Texas to work for his brother-in-law in the construction business. In 1987 he started his career in the industrial painting industry working for the following companies: Guardsman Products, Champions Coatings (production manager) and Hempel for many years. In 2009 he was asked by a wonderful friend to run a roofing and painting company. In 2014 Bobby and his wife acquired the Houston office of Integrity Roofing and Painting. It was a desire of his heart to be his own boss and to live in the country again. This transition allowed him to accomplish his dreams. After living in Cypress TX for 20 years Bobby and family moved to Waller, TX in 2017, where he enjoyed time on his tractor and traveling with his family.
Bobby met his wife Dana Grieser in 1985. They were wed on June 6, 1987. He was a loving husband and father. He loved being outside and Working on the yard, working on projects, as well as fishing and hunting. He enjoyed all sports and spending time with his family and friends.
Services for Bobby will be held at his home church Calvary community church 7550 Cherry Park Dr. Houston, TX 77095. Thursday February 3,2022@ 5:00 PM.
Interment- Bobby’s ashes will be laid to rest on Ellis Montgomery cemetery, Spruce Pine Road, Salyersville Kentucky in the spring.
