Brenda Sue Shepherd Pennington age 65 of Prestonsburg, Kentucky passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025 at the Highlands ARH in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. She was born June 13, 1959 in Paintsville, Kentucky to the late Aaron and Berta Moore Shepherd.
Survived by her husband, James Pennington, Jr., one son, Shawn and his wife, Ashley Pennington of Portland, Tennessee, two brothers, Steve Shepherd of Alger, Ohio, Owen A. Shepherd of Eastern, Kentucky, four sisters, Mable Moore of Alger, Ohio, Geneva Marshall of David, Kentucky, Virginia Shepherd of Kendallville, Indiana, Marlene Howard of Salyersville, Kentucky, four grandchildren, Sydni Pennington and Shelby of Paintsville, Kentucky, Nathan and Emma Pennington of Portland, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents, Brenda is preceded in death by two brothers, Edd Shepherd, John T. Shepherd, two sisters, Vina Crider, and Ernestine Slone.
Brenda was a faithful member of the Faith Independent Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 23, 2025 from the Faith Independent Freewill Baptist Church with Donnie Patrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Pennington Family Cemetery at Big Branch, Bull Creek, Kentucky. Friends may visit the church all day Thursday, May 22, 2025, and any time prior to funeral services.
