Charles Thompson, age 77, a resident of Thompson Drive in Sandy Hook, Kentucky, formally of Salyersville; passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024 at his home peacefully.
Charles was born August 28, 1946 in Tip Tip, Kentucky the son of the late Kelly Florence Ellen MacIntosh Thompson. Wife, Loretta Thompson; great grandchild, Jayla Ann Brown; sisters, Violet Thompson, Elizabeth Manns, Patty Mae Thompson; and brother, Delord Thompson also preceded in death.
Charles was employed in the coal industry for Consol Coal Company until his retirement.
Those left to mourn includes daughters, Vicky Blanton of Salyersville, Kentucky, Tracey Brown and husband Tim of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; son, Jeffrey Thompson and wife Vickie of Salyersville, Kentucky, five grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, a host of family and friends who love and miss him.
Funeral services for Charles Thompson will be conducted Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home Chapel in Salyersville, Kentucky. Clergy Michael Lewis will deliver comforting words on the day of service. Interment will follow in the Lewis Wagner Cemetery in Sandy Hook, Kentucky. The family will welcome friends Friday, January 12, 2024 after 5:00 PM and anytime prior to funeral services.
