Collision sends four to hospital

SALYERSVILLE – At least four people were taken to the hospital Friday night after a two-vehicle collision in Magoffin County.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the January 8 wreck just after 7 p.m. at the junction of KY Rt. 114 and U.S. 460, where a large commercial truck and a passenger vehicle collided.

According to officials, the truck was traveling on Rt. 114 toward Salyersville when the silver sedan reportedly crossed into the truck’s lane as it attempted to turn onto U.S. 460.

The driver of the truck was taken to an area hospital, as were at least three occupants of the car. Their conditions are unknown at press time.

Kentucky State Police continues to investigate the wreck and the Magoffin County Rescue Squad, Salyersville Fire Department and Lifeguard Ambulance Service all responded to the collision.
