Our cross country team ran at the Great Pumpkin Run on Monday sponsored by the Magoffin County Library. Melanie Cain did a great job, as always, with kids running the kids race (7yr and under), elementary race, and varsity race.
Magoffin County Cross Country placed second overall competing against Johnson Central, Morgan and Menifee Counties. Everyone had great times with great races! In the kids race, our Jerica Owens got second place followed by Carson McGuire in 6th! Our times in the elementary 1.25 mile race with 33 runners were Case Isaac in 8th, 10:42 and Kristina Rudd in 9th, 11:55. With 25 runners in the varsity 2.9 mile course, results are as follows- Matthew Hall was the first place finisher for the boys race completing the race in 18:36, 5th overall; Sullivan Rice, 21:17, 12th; JP Owens, 23:30, 15th; Colton Boyd, 23:34, 16th; Cameron Rudd, 17th, 25:57; and Jerimiah Gibson, 21st, 29:04. In the girls race Ashleigh Goble placed 8th with an impressive time of 28:09.
A good time was had by all.
