Donald Ray Akers age 71 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023 at the Paintsville ARH Regional Medical Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. He was born October 18, 1952 in Wolfe County, Kentucky to the late Forest Eugene John and Mary Evelyn McSorley Akers.
Survivors include, Sandy Kay Blair Akers, one son, Kenneth Ray (Stephanie) Akers of Lowmansville, Kentucky, two brothers, Jody Carl Eugene Akers of Lee City, Kentucky, John Wesley Akers of Hazel Green, Kentucky, two sisters, Penny Hall of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Ginger Moore of West Liberty, Kentucky, two grandchildren, Harley Marshall Akers, and Jimmie Nichole Akers.
In addition to his parents, Donald Ray is preceded in death by one sister, Pearlie Hall, and one grandchild, Kindley Ray Lyon.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from the Faith Freewill Baptist Church with Daniel Newsome officiating. Burial followed in the Patrick Cemetery, Lee City, Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers, family has requested contributions made to the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
