Edgar Helton age 71 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Monday, May 22, 2023 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born September 27, 1951 in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late Garland Joe and Gustie Howard Helton.
Survived by his wife, Sharon Wallen Helton, one daughter, Tracy (Shane) Whitaker of Salyersville, Kentucky, three sons, Edgar Shawn Helton of Morehead, Kentucky, Jonathan Matthew Blair of Louisville, Kentucky, Michael Patrick Grim of Salyersville, Kentucky, two grandsons, Shawn Presley Helton, Noah Bradley Helton, four brothers, George (Shirley) Helton, Gary (Sue) Helton, Harrison (Connie) Helton, Timothy Helton, five sisters, Marjorie Blanton, Deloris Yates, Wanda Kay (Ransom) Reed, Betty Gay Combs, and Joe Ella (Alton) Huff.
In addition to his parents, Edgar is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Mercedes Layne Whitaker Stephens, one brother, Holland Helton, and one sister, Marcella Rena Helton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 26, 2023 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Tommy Meade officiating. Burial will follow in the Garland Helton Cemetery at Lick Creek, Kentucky. Friends may visit the funeral home Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 6:00 P.M. till 9:00 P.M. and any time prior to funeral services
