Eight Magoffin County runners to compete in Class 2A State Meet

On Saturday the cross country team competed in the KHSAA 2A Regional Championships, hosted by Harlan County. The boys team did well with Matt Hall leading them with a time of 21:01, followed by Sullivan Rice, 24:05, Colton Boyd, 24:35, JP Owens, 29:21 and Eli Howard 29:22. The boys team placed 5th overall qualifying them for the state championship. The girls were lead by Miley Back with a time of 32:05, followed by Abigail Skaggs, Lashae Allen and Abigail Bradley. SALYERSVILLE — Eight Magoffin County runners are set to compete in the KHSAA Class 2A State Cross Country Meet at Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington on Saturday, Nov. 2.

The Magoffin County runners poised to run in the KHSAA Class 2A State Cross Country Meet are Colton Boyd, Daegan Caudill, Matthew Hall, Eli Howard, JP Owens, Darrin Phipps, Sullivan Rice and Luke Wireman.

Magoffin County placed fifth out of six boys’ teams at the Class 2A, Region 7 Cross Country Meet on Saturday, Oct. 26. The Hornets finished behind Morgan County, Bath County, Johnson Central and host Harlan County in the Class 2A, Region 7 Cross Country Meet team standings.
