Football workouts to be held three days per week

SALYERSVILLE — The Magoffin County football program will conduct after school workouts three days per week throughout the offseason.

The after school workouts will be held every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3 p.m.-4:30 p.m. each day.

The sessions are for players who will be in grades 7-12 in the 2025-26 schoolyear.

Both returning players and newcomers are invited to the after school workouts.

Attendance at the sessions is critical to the Hornets’ success in the 2025 high school football season.

Student-athletes who are currently participating in another sport or have a time conflict should contact a member of the Magoffin County football team’s coaching staff about the workouts.

Each player will have Magoffin County workout gear supplied every day for the indoor sessions.

No cell phones or earbuds will be allowed in the weight room.

Players must wear closed-toe tennis shoes.

No sandals, flip flops or Crocs will be permitted.

Each player will have a locker.

Every player should keep a sweatshirt/hoodie and sweatpants available for occasional outside workouts.

The Hornets, under the direction of head coach John DeRossett, compete in Class 3A, District 8.
