NEW 460 – Four people were taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle collision on Monday.

According to the Magoffin County Sheriff’s Office, the driver of a small, blue pickup truck, who was accompanied by his dog, was making a turn into the metal recycling facility on US 460 and pulled into the path of a silver passenger car.

The silver car collided with the passenger side of the small truck.

The small family dog that was sitting on the passenger side of the truck was injured and a family member picked it up at the scene and took it to a veterinarian.

The driver of the truck, a Magoffin County man, was seriously injured, but believed to be with non-life-threatening injuries.

He had several broken bones and internal injuries and was taken by an ambulance to Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center, where he was transferred to another hospital due to the extent of his injuries.

The three occupants of the silver car were also taken by ambulance to an area hospital, with the extent of their injuries unknown at press time.

The wreck was handled by the Magoffin County Sheriff’s Office, Magoffin County Rescue Squad, Lifeguard Ambulance Service and other EMS agencies.
