Gerald Milton Salyer, age 77, a resident of Patrick Drive in Salyersville, Kentucky; passed away Friday, October 4, 2024 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
Gerald was born March 27, 1947 in Salyersville, Kentucky the son of the late John P. and Olga Lee Howard Salyer. Gerald is also proceeded in death by his beloved wife, Judy Brown Salyer, his only son, Gerald Milton “Bud” Salyer II, his brothers, Charles, Russell, James, Clayton, and Keith Salyer, and one granddaughter, Megan Hardin.
Gerald was the owner of Salyer Plumbing, he was also employed as the Magoffin County Road Department Foreman, and a member of Ashland Pipefitters Local 248 until his retirement.
Most importantly Gerald was a devout Christian and member of the Salyersville Freewill Baptist Church in Salyersville, Kentucky for almost 50 years.
Those left to mourn include his three daughters, Machelle Renee Hardin (Charles), Alicia Kay (Carl) Blair, Faith Shere (Michael) Wilson, and Olivia Grace Salyer all of Salyersville, Kentucky, and one sister, Shirley Bailey of Salyersville, Kentucky. Also left to grieve their Pap, sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends who love and miss him.
Funeral services for Gerald Milton Salyer were conducted Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from the Salyersville Freewill Baptist Church in Salyersville, Kentucky. Pastor Joseph Harmon delivered comforting words on the day of service. Interment followed in the Patrick Cemetery on College Heights in Salyersville, Kentucky.
