Hornets defeat Wildcats for first win

FRENCHBURG — Magoffin County pulled away to defeat Menifee County 9-1 to notch its first win in the 2024 high school baseball season on Saturday, April 27.

Following the win, Magoffin County improved to 1-13.

Kaden Litteral pitched a no-hitter for Magoffin County and claimed the win on the mound. As part of a strong pitching performance for the Hornets, Litteral recorded 15 strikeouts.

Magoffin County scored nine runs on 10 hits. Litteral (one hit), Ian McCarty (two hits, two RBIs), Brayden Bailey (two hits, one RBI), Ethan Salyer (two hits), Connor Blanton (one hit, two RBIs), Cayden Russell (one hit), Gavin Arnett (one hit) and Noah Gibson (one RBI) each made an impact offensively for the Hornets.

Magoffin County and Menifee County aren’t scheduled to meet again in the 2024 high school baseball season.
