EASTERN— Magoffin County couldn’t battle back from behind as Floyd Central won 10-0 in six innings on Monday, March 21.
Greyson Akers started on the mound for Floyd Central and earned the win. Akers pitched four innings and posted seven strikeouts.
Contributing on the mound, Barrett Williams pitched the last two innings in relief for the Jaguars. Williams struck out three Magoffin County batters.
Floyd Central scored 10 runs on nine hits. Akers (two hits, three RBIs), Williams (one hit, one RBI), Logan Meade (three hits, two RBIs), Logan Slone (one hit, one RBI), Luke Gibson (one hit) and Mason Anderson (one hit) each delivered offensively for the Jaguars.
Isaac Howard started on the mound for Magoffin County and took the loss.
Along with Howard, Evan Reed and Brayden Bailey patched for the Hornets.
Magoffin County was held to two hits. Brayden Bailey and Mason Peck each delivered one hit for the Hornets. Supplying an extra-base hit for Magoffin County, Bailey doubled.
Magoffin County is scheduled to host Floyd Central for a late-season game on Wednesday, May 13.
