PAINTSVILLE — Magoffin County was limited as host Paintsville pulled away to win 79-32 in a 57th District boys’ basketball game on Monday, Feb. 10.
Following the loss, Magoffin County slipped to 6-17 overall and 0-5 in the 57th District.
Magoffin County shot 35.0 percent (14-of-40) from the field. The Hornets made four of 18 three-point field goal attempts.
Magoffin County missed its lone free throw attempt in the district game.
Parker Bowling paced Magoffin County, scoring a team-high 13 points for the Hornets.
Accompanying Bowling in double figures for Magoffin County, Tayte Hall netted 11 points.
Chipping offensively for Magoffin County, Caleb Lovely, Michael Trusty, Noah Gibson and Jackson Gilliland added two points apiece.
Johnson Central 68, Magoffin County 31: Visiting Johnson Central topped Magoffin County 68-31 in a 57th District boys’ basketball game on Saturday, Feb. 8.
Magoffin County connected on 12 of 44 field goal attempts in the district matchup. The Hornets made three of 10 three-pointers.
Magoffin County drained four of seven free throw attempts.
Caleb Lovely (nine points), Matthew Hall (eight points), Evan Reed (four points), Jackson Gilliland (four points), Trey Hines (two points), Parker Bowling (two points) and Michael Trusty (two points) provided Magoffin County’s scoring.
