SALYERSVILLE — Former champion Magoffin County reached the second round of the 15th Region Boys’ Basketball Tournament.
Pike County Central eliminated Magoffin County from the 15th Region Boys’ Basketball Tournament, defeating the Hornets 62-48 on Saturday, Feb. 28.
Magoffin County played back-to-back games on the road in the 15th Region Boys’ Basketball Tournament. The Hornets were on the court for two games over a three-day span.
During the first round of the 15th Region Boys’ Basketball Tournament on Thursday, Feb. 26, Magoffin County defeated East Ridge 77-61.

Magoffin County showed improvement in the 2025-26 boys’ high school basketball season. The Hornets exited the 2025-26 boys’ high school basketball season with a 9-23 overall record.
After reaching the second round of the 15th Region Boys’ Basketball Tournament, Magoffin County has entered its offseason. The Hornets will be back on the court later in the year, preparing for the 2026-27 boys’ high school basketball campaign.
