SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County will host Harlan County for its first scrimmage in the 2024 high school football preseason on Saturday, Aug. 10.
The start time for the Magoffin County-Harlan County football scrimmage will be 6 p.m.
The Hornets and Black Bears aren’t scheduled to meet during the 2024 high school football regular season.
Magoffin County competes in Class 3A, District 8. Head coach John DeRossett guides the Hornets.
Magoffin County compiled a 4-7 record in the 2023 high school football season. The Hornets made an appearance in the 2023 KHSAA Class 3A Playoffs.
Harlan County competes in Class 5A, District 8. Head coach Jacob Saylor guides the Black Bears.
Harlan County compiled a 1-10 record in the 2023 high school football season. The Black Bears made an appearance in the 2023 KHSAA Class 5A Playoffs.
Several experienced players are returning for both Magoffin County and Harlan County.
Magoffin County will open preseason practice at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 15.
