James Lewis Montgomery, age 70, a resident of Elk Creek Road in Salyersville Kentucky passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville, Ky.
James was born January 1, 1951 in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late Thurman and Gracie Preston Montgomery. Sister, Carol Faye Montgomery, also preceded him in death.
James was an Equestrian who loved to spend time with his family and friends.
Those left to mourn include his wife, Debra Ward Montgomery, whom he married July 26, 2013, sons, Adam Montgomery and wife Crystal of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, Jonathon Montgomery and wife Julia of Jackson, Kentucky, daughters, Crystal Montgomery and husband Paul of Oil Spring, Kentucky, Valerie Watson and husband Brian of Salyersville, Kentucky, brothers, Kenneth Montgomery of Ivel, Kentucky, Bennie Montgomery of Hazard, Kentucky, twelve grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a host of family and friends who love and miss him.
Funeral services for James Lewis Montgomery were conducted Sunday April 11, 2021 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home. Clergy Wayne Meade delivered comforting words on the day of the service. Interment followed in the Head of Coon Cemetery in Salyersville, Kentucky.
