James Robert Perkins age 82, of Grape Creek Rd.,Salyersville, KY passed away Friday, November 13, 2020 in the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, Ky after an extended illness. He was born July 25, 1938 in Grape Creek,(Magoffin Co) KY to Jack & Luna Wages Perkins. He was farmer and delivered gas for Farmer Supply, Salyersville, KY. He was a member of the Bethlehem To Calvary Apostolic Church, US 460, Salyersville, KY.
Surviving are one daughter Carolyn Sprague (Frankie), two sons Ronnie Perkins (Sue), Jeff Perkins (Stephanie) all of Salyersville, KY. Two sisters: Doris Oney (Melvin) and Brenda Hess all of Cincinnati, Ohio. Three brothers: Jimmy Crace of Indianapolis,IN; Ray Perkins & Gary Perkins both of Salyersville, KY. Seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Special niece, Carol Sue Birchfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack & Luna Wages Perkins, his wife Deloris Benton Perkins, sons, Randall Perkins and one infant son. Three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held 1:00pm Monday, November 16, 2020 at Bethlehem To Calvary Apostolic Church, with Pastor Johnny Reed and Pastor Shawn Yates officiating. Burial followed in Perkins Family Cemetery, Perkins Branch, Salyersville, KY
