Jeffrey Morrison Cravens

Jeffrey Morrison Cravens age 60 of Palm Coast, Florida passed away Friday, March 19, 2021 at the North Florida Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family.

As an adored son, Jeffrey was born a twin on July 3, 1960 in West Liberty, Kentucky to Beverly Hill and John Charles “J.C.” Cravens.

Jeffrey graduated from Fairborn High School and was a proud Wright State University Alumni.

He was a Veteran of the Peacetime and Gulf War Era as he enlisted in the military on September 11, 1978 and proudly served his county as a Marine and eventually retiring from the Army as an Army Recruiter on January 17, 1998.

While serving in the United States Marine Corps, Jeffrey traveled all over including Lebanon, where he survived the 1983 Beirut Barracks Bombing. But it was while stationed in Subic Bay, Philippines, with Company “B” Marine Barracks in 1979; that he met the love of his life, Rosita. They were married on April 8, 1980, creating the last 42 years of memories together.

During this time of service, Jeffrey was awarded many achievements while being in the Military. A handful of notable accomplishments being the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, and the US Army Gold Recruiter Badge with 3 Sapphire achievement stars.

While he attained many achievements during his military career, his greatest and most proud accomplishments overall was being a grandfather to his six grandkids. He was selfless and kind. He loved being a parent and grandparent. It was his calling in life. His love, guidance and legacy will carry on through his grandchildren.

In his retirement years, he continued to travel, volunteer at his church food bank and fish with family and friends. Jeffrey and his wife would spend their days fishing on the shorelines of Florida.

Jeffrey, a devoted husband, is survived by his most treasured wife, Rosita Cravens. He was a wonderful father to their four children, Michael (Jean) Fabian, Randy (Shelia Piorkowski-Pereze) Fabian, Lashanda Moore, Maranda Cravens-Mahaffey and son-in-law, Ron Moore. And a proud Grandfather of six grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Tyler Moore, Kayla Moore, Kurt Fabian, Jorden Courtney, Addison Mahaffey, and Weston Mahaffey.

As well as; his cherished mother Beverly Hill, brothers, John Cravens and David Hill and sisters, Tammy Hall and Angel Hill.

He will be forever remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins whom he loved dearly.

Jeffrey is preceded in death by his father J.C. Cravens, father-in-law, Theodorico Fabian, mother-in-law, Maria Fabian, brother-in-law, Wayne Hall and sister-in-law, Patricia Cravens.

Jeffrey was a strong, proud, and good man. He will be remembered for his fierce independence, strength, and loyalty to his family and faith. As A humble man, he never liked to be the center of attention. In life and now in death, he would not was us to focus on him. He would not want us to focus on the sadness of his death, but instead focus on the happiness within us. he would want us to appreciate each other and our future.

A man as humble and loving as Jeffrey, will always be remembered by those of us who knew him and loved him. Although we will miss him, his smile, his pranks, his love, his boisterous laugh, we take comfort in the memories he leaves us with.

Jeffrey is loved and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Jeffrey with his family during visitation at the Magoffin County Funeral Home, 900 Parkway Drive, Salyersville, Kentucky, on Friday, March 26, 2021 from 6 P.M. till 9 P.M. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow at the Reed Family Cemetery in Johnson Fork, Kentucky.

Military Rite will be given by the Salyersville D.A.V. Chapter 15 the day of service.

In lieu of flowers, family has requested contributions to the Jeffrey Cravens Memorial Fund at the Magoffin County Funeral Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Magoffin of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
