SALYERSVILLE — Kickoff times are set for Magoffin County’s 10 games in the 2023 high school football season.
Each game on Magoffin County’s 2023 schedule is slated to kick off at 7:30 p.m.
The Hornets are back on the gridiron preparing for the 2023 high school football season. Magoffin County’s preseason will consist of multiple scrimmages before a season opener.
The Hornets are scheduled to kick off the 2023 high school football season at Montgomery County in the Recreation Bowl on Saturday, Aug. 19.
Magoffin County and Montgomery County did not meet during the 2022 high school football season.
Six days after its season opener, Magoffin County is slated to visit Lewis County on Friday, Aug. 25. The Hornets and Lions did not meet during the 2022 high school football season.
Magoffin County is scheduled to host Leslie County for its home opener on Friday, Sept. 1.
The Hornets and Eagles did not meet in 2022.
Magoffin County has additional away games on tap versus Russell (Sept. 8), Lawrence County (Oct. 6) and Estill County (Oct. 20). Both Russell and Estill County are new opponents for the Hornets.
Magoffin County’s additional home games are matchups were Martin County (Sept. 15), Belfry (Sept. 22), Powell County (Sept. 29) and Morgan County (Oct. 27). The other new opponents on the Hornets’ schedule are Martin County and Powell County.
Magoffin County is a member of Class 3A, District 8. Along with Magoffin County, Class 3A, District 8 includes Belfry, Estill County, Lawrence County and Powell County.
