SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County defeated Jackson City 3-1 for its third straight win in the 2025 girls’ high school volleyball season on Monday, Oct. 13.
The win allowed Magoffin County to even its record to 8-8.
The Lady Hornets won for the fifth time in six matches.
Magoffin County shook off a slow start to claim the win. The Lady Hornets prevailed 21-25, 25-16, 25-12, 25-22.
Magoffin County has surpassed its win total from the 2024 girls’ high school volleyball season. The Lady Hornets have posted 15 wins over the past two campaigns. Magoffin County compiled a 7-15 record in the 2024 girls’ high school volleyball season.
The Lady Hornets defeated Jackson City for the second time in the 2025 girls’ high school volleyball season, which opened on Monday, Aug. 18. Magoffin County shut out Jackson City 3-0 (25-13, 25-12, 25-15) in a home match on Thursday, Sept. 25.
Karlee Wallen, Jaylee Reed, Abby Barnett, Allison Hirst, Madison Hirst, Ashley Gayheart, Maci Minix, Kellen Simpkins, Brooklynn Allen and Kylee Glidden have each been instrumental in Magoffin County’s success during the 2025 girls’ high school volleyball season.
