SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County couldn’t return to the win column on its home court as Menifee County pulled away to win 63-46 on Friday, Jan. 24.
Menifee County, a contender for the 61st District title, notched its eighth win in 10 games.
Magoffin County shot 36.4 percent (16-of-44) from the field. The Lady Hornets made four of 14 three-point field goal attempts.
Magoffin County shot 66.7 percent (10-of-15) from the free throw line.
Abby Barnett scored a team-high 10 points for the Lady Hornets. Barnett was the only Magoffin County player to reach double figures.
Narrowly missing double figures for Magoffin County, Emily Sluss and Macy Williams netted nine points apiece.
Magoffin County received scoring from seven different players. Bella Trusty (seven points), Abigail Bradley (seven points), Maddie Salyer (two points) and Jerrica Reed (two points) accounted for the rest of Magoffin County’s scoring.
