CAMPTON — Wolfe County managed to defeat Magoffin County 50-38 on Wednesday, Jan. 29.
Host Wolfe County shot 48.8 percent (20-of-41) from the field. The Lady Wolves made five of 17 three-point field goal attempts, shooting 29.4 percent from beyond the arc.
Wolfe County shot 45.5 percent (five-of-11) from the free throw line.
Harper Holbrook and Naoma Noble scored 14 points apiece for the Lady Wolves.
Finishing directly behind Holbrook and Noble in Wolfe County’s scoring column, Jasmine Banks netted 13 points.
Chipping in offensively for Wolfe County, Kenzie Miller added seven points and Gracie Brown contributed two points.
Noble (11 rebounds) and Banks (12 rebounds) each recorded a double-double for Wolfe County in its winning effort.
Magoffin County shot 35.7 percent (15-of-42) from the field. The Lady Hornets enjoyed success beyond the arc, shooting 37.5 percent (six-of-16) from three-point range.
Magoffin County shot 50.0 percent (two-of-four) from the free throw line.
Macy Williams paced Magoffin County, scoring a game-high 15 points for the Lady Hornets. Williams made three of five three-point field goal attempts.
Finishing near double figures for Magoffin County, Bella Trusty netted eight points.
Behind Trusty, Emily Sluss (six points), Maddie Salyer (four points), Abigail Bradley (three points) and Abby Barnett (two points) were Magoffin County’s additional scorers.
Sluss was active around the goal for Magoffin County, securing a team-high seven rebounds.
