SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County returned to the win column earlier in the week, defeating Breathitt County 12-2 in five innings on Tuesday, March 25.
The Lady Hornets pulled away to win convincingly.
Ava Hensley pitched for Magoffin County and claimed the win in the circle. Hensley held Breathitt County to two runs on seven hits. The Magoffin County pitcher recorded four strikeouts.
The Lady Hornets delivered defensively and offensively.
Players throughout Magoffin County’s lineup were productive at the plate. Magoffin County scored 12 runs on 13 hits.
Hensley (one hit), Katie Carty (three hits, three RBIs), Jaycie Wells (two hits, three RBIs), Abby Barnett (two hits, two RBIs), Kiley Lemaster (two hits, one RBI), Macy Williams (two hits) and Bella Trusty (one hit) each made an impact offensively for the Lady Hornets. Both Carty and Barnett homered in Magoffin County’s 10-run win.
Magoffin County is scheduled to visit Breathitt County for a game during the second half of the 2025 high school softball season on Thursday, May 1.
