Lady Hornets roll past Menifee County

FRENCHBURG — Magoffin County pulled away to defeat Menifee County 21-4 in five innings on Saturday, May 10.

The Lady Hornets improved to 8-14 after registering the win.

Magoffin County excelled throughout the game, forcing Menifee County to play from behind.

Ava Hensley pitched a complete game for Magoffin County and earned the win in the circle. Hensley recorded seven strikeouts.

Magoffin County scored 21 runs on 12 hits. Hensley (two RBIs), Kiley Lemaster (three hits, five RBIs), Kailyn Arnett (three hits, two RBIs), Baylee Hatfield (two hits, three RBIs), Abby Barnett (two hits, one RBI), Bella Trusty (one hit, one RBI), Macy Williams (one hit), Lucy Whitaker (two RBIs) and Maci Minix (one RBI) each contributed at the plate in Magoffin County’s convincing victory. Lemaster, who drove in five runs, doubled twice for the Lady Hornets.

Continuing to thrive offensively, Magoffin County scored 20-plus runs for the second straight game.

Magoffin County was scheduled to host Menifee County for another game at press time on Wednesday, May 14.
