SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County shut out Jackson City 3-0 in a non-district girls’ volleyball match on Thursday, Sept. 25.
Continuing to show improvement, Magoffin County notched its third win in four matches.
Magoffin County forced Jackson City to play from behind. The Lady Hornets won convincingly, defeating Jackson City 25-13, 25-12, 25-15.
Jaylee Reed (6 kills, 1 assist, 1 dig, 3 service aces), Lucy Whitaker (2 kills,1 assist, 2 service aces), Maci Minix (1 dig, 3 service aces), Abby Barnett (2 kills, 1 assist, 3 digs, 4 service aces), Kellen Simpkins (2 kills, 15 assists, 3 service aces), Ileana Torices (4 digs, 1 service ace), Karlee Wallen (3 kills, 1 service ace), Ava Gibson (4 digs), Maddie Salyer (3 kills), Ashlynn Risner (3 digs), Brooklynn Allen (1 dig) and Larah Salyer each made an impact for Magoffin County in its shutout win.
Magoffin County and Jackson City, rivals from bordering regions, met for the first time in the 2025 girls’ high school volleyball season.
