SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County is scheduled to meet host Buckhorn in the Scott Blank Classic on Jan. 31, 2026.
The Magoffin County-Buckhorn game is slated to tip off at 6 p.m.
Buckhorn hosts the Scott Blank Classic annually.
Magoffin County has registered three straight wins over Buckhorn, an opponent from the bordering 14th Region. The Lady
Hornets defeated Buckhorn twice during the 2024-25 girls’ high school basketball season. Winning easily, Magoffin County beat 76-21 in the two teams’ last meeting on Jan. 4.
Magoffin County showed improvement during the 2024-25 girls’ high school basketball season, exiting the prep hoops campaign 6-23.
Buckhorn finished 6-25 in the 2024-25 girls’ high school basketball campaign.
Magoffin County is preparing to compete in the 2025-26 girls’ high school basketball season. Most of Magoffin County’s players from the 2024-25 girls’ high school basketball season are back on the court. The Lady Hornets opened preseason practice in October.
Magoffin County is scheduled to visit Powell County for a 2025-26 season opener on Monday, Dec. 1.
