SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County is scheduled to meet 15th Region rival Lawrence County in the 2023 2A, Section 8 Volleyball Tournament at Pike Cunty Central on Monday, Aug. 28.
The tournament match is slated to start at 6 p.m.
Along with the tournament match, Magoffin County and Lawrence County are due to meet in a season opener on Monday, Aug. 14.
Magoffin County (5-21) suffered a pair of losses to Lawrence County (15-11) during the 2022 high school volleyball season.
Section 8 includes Magoffin County, Lawrence County, Boyd County, Floyd Central, Knott County Central, Letcher County Central and Pike County Central.
Floyd Central is the reigning 2A, Section 8 champion.
Teams across the state will compete in 2A section tournaments during the 2023 high school volleyball season.
