PRESTONSBURG — Magoffin County managed to upend Prestonsburg in an away game, winning 16-10 on Tuesday, April 22.
Continuing to show improvement, Magoffin County registered its second straight win and won for the third time in four games.
Magoffin County improved to 5-7 after notching the win.
Magoffin County scored a dozen or more runs for the sixth time in the 2025 high school softball season.
Katie Carty pitched a complete game for Magoffin County and earned the win in the circle. Carty recorded three strikeouts during her pitching outing.
Magoffin County thrived offensively. The Lady Hornets plated 16 runs on 19 hits. Carty (three hits), Kiley Lemaster (three hits, five RBIs), Abby Barnett (three hits, one RBI), Kailyn Arnett (three hits, one RBI), Kayda Carr (two hits, one RBI), Macy Williams (two hits), Bella Trusty (one hit, four RBIs), Maci Minix (one hit, one RBI) and Jaycie Wells (one hit, one RBI) each made an impact offensively for the Lady Hornets.
Magoffin County secured the win after dropping an early-season game to Prestonsburg in March.
