Lena Montgomery, age 79, a resident of Parkway Drive in Salyersville, Kentucky; passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023 at Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky.
Lena was born September 21, 1944 in Jackson, Kentucky the daughter of John Riley and Martha Jane Caldwell Montgomery. Sisters, Genoa Williams, Reva Fugate, Blanche Montgomery, Hattie Montgomery, Mattie Montgomery, Mose Montgomery, Hazel Wages; brothers, Ollie Montgomery, Pat Montgomery, Melvin Montgomery, Ellis Montgomery, and Eldon “Pen” Montgomery also preceded in death.
Lena was employed as a cook at Jenny Wiley State Lodge in Prestonsburg, Kentucky and a devoted member to her family, friends, and church.
Those left to mourn includes daughters, Linda Mae Bradley and husband Ronnie Ford of Royalton, Kentucky, Diane Marie Howard and wife Neva of Paintsville, Kentucky, Mary Jay Howard and companion Lloyd Beardasley of Paintsville, Kentucky; sons, Billy Jean Howard and wife Elizabeth of Miami, Oklahoma, Timothy Howard and wife Pauline of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, a host of family and friends who love and miss her.
A memorial service for Lena Montgomery will be announced at a later time.
