Lexington woman charged with importing heroin

SALYERSVILLE – A Lexington woman was arrested on Saturday during a traffic stop after police reportedly found various drugs.

According to the arrest citation, Salyersville Police Department Officer Mike Nickels had stopped the vehicle on the Mountain Parkway early in the morning on May 1.

Nickels noted that he was going to let the woman, who was a passenger in the vehicle, drive following the traffic stop, but when he walked up the vehicle, he saw her put something in her bra.
He then asked Lisa Sole, 57, of Lexington, to step out of the vehicle and asked if she had anything on her. According to the citation, Sole had methamphetamine and that she laid on the car, as well as a bottle of unidentified pills. Sole reportedly told police that she was cold, so Nickels let her stand beside his car.

At that time, Sole allegedly had a small hard case with heroin and a pipe in it that she laid on top of Nickels’ tire on the passenger side of his police vehicle. She also had a small container in her bra with baggies that had methamphetamine and some residue with a straw that she reportedly tied to hid when Nickels walked up to her.

Sole was arrested and taken to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, where she has since been released, pending future court hearings.

She is currently facing the following charges: first-degree possession of a controlled substance, second offense (methamphetamine); importing heroin; first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (drug unspecified); drug paraphernalia, buy/possess; and tampering with physical evidence.

At press time, no court hearing has been scheduled in the felony case.
