TROY, Ala. — After entering the transfer portal, Magoffin County High School graduate Lucas Litteral has committed to Troy University.

Litteral is making the move to Troy University from Western Kentucky University.

As a junior, Litteral contributed to Western Kentucky’s historic season, which concluded on May 31.

After suffering a loss to Ole Miss in the NCAA Oxford Regional, WKU exited its latest season 46-14.

It’s the second-most ever wins for the Hilltoppers.

During the 2025 college baseball season, Litteral, a left-handed pitcher, appeared in 14 games for WKU, logging one start. The Magoffin County High School product pitched 22 innings and recorded 29 strikeouts. Litteral claimed two saves during his latest campaign.

WKU compiled an 18-9 record in Conference USA. The Hilltoppers finished one game shy of tying the 47-win 1980 WKU team for the most wins in a season.

WKU won a conference tournament title for the first time since 2008 and captured its first CUSA Championship since joining the league in 2015. The Hilltoppers were the number two seed heading into tournament play – the highest ranking WKU has had since becoming a league member.

WKU appeared in its fifth NCAA Regional in program history and its first since 2009.

The Hilltoppers reached 40-plus wins for the sixth time in program history and the first time in 16 years.

Litteral made 21 appearances on the mound and posted a 4-3 record with two saves for WKU in the 2024 college baseball season. He posted a 4.31 ERA with 41 strikeouts through 31.1 innings of work.

The left-hander received CUSA Pitcher of the Week honors in 2024 after striking out seven batters in 4.2 innings of relief work while allowing just one run on two hits in a win over New Mexico State.

Troy competes in the Sun Belt Conference. The Trojans compiled a 39-21 overall record and an 18-12 conference record in the 2025 college baseball season.
