SALYERSVILLE — The Magoffin County 5th-6th football team concluded the 2022 regular season undefeated.
The Hornets shut out Breathitt County 36-0 in a regular season finale on Tuesday, Sept. 27.
Magoffin County dominated throughout the matchup versus Breathitt County, pulling away to win convincingly over its rival.
Several players on both offense and defense contributed for the Hornets in the shutout win over Breathitt County.
Aden Montgomery and Kolton Risner combined to lead Magoffin County to the shutout win. Montgomery scored three touchdowns and one two-point conversion for the Hornets in the victory.
Turning in another strong performance for Magoffin County, Risner scored two touchdowns and two two-point conversions in the triumph.
Following the win over Breathitt County, Magoffin County moved to 11-0.
The Hornets carried momentum over into the postseason.
Magoffin County entered the postseason earlier in the week.
