Magoffin County archers excel in state tournament

LOUISVILLE — Multiple Magoffin County archers excelled during the Kentucky State NASP/IBO 3D Challenge at the Kentucky Exposition Center on Saturday, March 15.

Junior Chloe Skaggs led Magoffin County, delivering a score of 290 and placing third among the high school girls in the state tournament. Skaggs, who shot 21 10s, finished first among junior girls.

Magoffin County freshman Luke Montgomery delivered a score of 285 and placed 16th among the high school boys. Montgomery finished second among freshman boys.

Brayden Lewis placed 28th among the high school boys. Lewis, who finished sixth among the freshman boys, turned in a score of 282.

John Martin Connelly placed 43rd among the high school boys. Connelley, who finished ninth among the freshman boys, produced a score of 280.

The additional archers who competed for Magoffin County during the Kentucky State NASP/IBO 3D Challenge were Evan Reed, Eli Howard, Madison Rose, Abigail Skaggs, Lilian Ramey, Anthony Hopkins, Charles Helton, Marlee Risner and Kaleb Pennington.
