The Lady Hornets won two of three games in the Lyndel Potter Memorial Tournament at Pikeville on Saturday, April 26.
Magoffin County 10, Morgan County 0 (5 innings): Magoffin County shut out longtime rival Morgan County 10-0 in five innings during the Lyndel Potter Memorial Tournament at Pikeville on Saturday, April 26.
Katie Carty pitched a three-hit shutout for Magoffin County and earned the win in the circle. Carty recorded three strikeouts.
Magoffin County scored 10 runs on nine hits. Bella Trusty (two hits, two RBIs), Jaycie Wells (two hits), Kiley Lemaster (one hit, two RBIs), Macy Williams (one hit, one RBI), Maci Minix (one hit, two RBIs), Abby Barnett (one hit), Kayda Carr (one hit) and Kailyn Arnett (one RBI) each produced offensively for Magoffin County in its shutout win. Showing speed on the bases, Trusty legged out a triple.
Magoffin County 15, Pike County Central 5 (5 innings): Magoffin County pulled away to defeat Pike County Central 15-5 in five innings during the Lyndel Potter Memorial Tournament at Pikeville on Saturday, April 26.
Ava Hensley pitched for Magoffin County and earned the win in the circle. Hensley posted three strikeouts.
Magoffin County scored 15 runs on nine hits. Abby Barnett (four hits, five RBIs), Baylee Hatfield (two hits, one RBI), Jaycie Wells (two hits), Macy Williams (one hit, one RBI) and Kailyn Arnett (one RBI) contributed at the plate in Magoffin County’s 10-run win. Barnett, who drove in five runs, homered for the Lady Hornets.
Pikeville 11, Magoffin County 1 (5 innings): Magoffin County couldn’t battle back from behind as host Pikeville prevailed 11-1 in five innings during the Lyndel Potter Memorial Tournament on Saturday, April 26.
