Magoffin man dies after work accident

LOUISVILLE – A Magoffin County man was fatally injured while working as a line technician in Louisville following recent storms.

Jameson Taton Bryant Hall, 29 years old, of Salyersville, was working for Pike Enterprises as a contract laborer for LG&E & KU in Louisville. The Jefferson County coroner confirmed to local news stations in that region that Hall died as a result of electrocution.

LG&E and KU Media Relations Manager and Spokesperson Daniel K. Lowry told the Independent, “A contract line technician from Pike Electric suffered fatal injuries while performing electric service restoration work within our LG&E system near Preston Hwy at Loretta Street Saturday afternoon. We are working with Pike to thoroughly investigate the accident that took place.”

Similarly, Pike Enterprises Senior Vice President of Administration James Banner said, “We are continuing to investigate a tragic accident that occurred in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday afternoon that evidently took the life of one of our employees. Our prayers are with his family and friends at this time.”

“This is a tragic loss,” Lowry said, “Our hearts go out to the contractor’s family and loved ones, as well to our employees, especially co-workers and emergency personnel who responded to the job site where the incident occurred. We extend our sincerest condolences to all family members, co-workers and others touched by this tragedy. We have resources available to our employees to help them process and cope with this loss.”
