Magoffin native arrested in child porn case

LEXINGTON –Magoffin County native was arrested in Lexington last week on charges related to child pornography.

According to the arrest citation from the Lexington Police Department, Avery Todd Wireman, 40 years old, of Lexington, was reportedly found to have attempted to share child sexual abuse material images and videos four times, with the children portrayed in the images ranging from 4 to 15 years old.

The Lexington Police Department citation also states that Wireman was found to have possessed 28 images/videos of child sexual abuse material. All files were found on Wireman’s Dropbox account. The images and videos were said to range from exposed breasts to an approximate 5-year-old girl performing oral sex on an adult male. The date the alleged violations occurred was listed as December 21, 2023 at 4 a.m.

Wireman was arrested at his residence on February 21 at approximately 9:15 a.m. and charged with four counts of distribution of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance and 28 counts of possession of matter portraying a minor in sexual performance.

Wireman was released on bond from the Fayette County Detention Center, with a preliminary hearing set for March 1 in Fayette County court.
