Congratulations to Alex Hibbens, Alison Cantrell and Abby Bradley for competing at the KHSAA State 2A Track and Field State Championships on Friday, June 3, at the University of KY Shively Track & Field Stadium.
Alex medaled in pole vault capturing 7th place with a height of 11-6! He also placed 17th in long jump (17-7.25) and 22nd in triple jump (36-7).
Alison placed 11th in pole vault (7-6), 21st in triple jump (27-3.25), and 24th in long jump (13-5).
Abby placed 22nd in discus throw (75-10).

LEXINGTON — Three Magoffin County athletes competed in the KHSAA Class 2A State Track & Field Meet at the University of Kentucky on Friday, June 3.
Both Alison Cantrell and Alex Hibbens competed in three events for Magoffin County during the state meet. Hibbens led the Hornets, posting a top-eight finish in Boys’ Pole Vault.
In addition to Cantrell and Hibbens, Abby Bradley competed for Magoffin County in the Class 2A State Meet.
The Class 2A State Meet included Magoffin County, Adair County, Ashland Blazer, Bardstown, Bell County, Bourbon County, Boyd County, Boyle County, Breckinridge County, Butler County, Caldwell County, Calloway County, Casey County, Christian Academy-Louisville. Corbin, East Carter, East Jessamine, Elizabethtown, Estill County, Fleming County, Floyd Central, Franklin County, Franklin-Simpson, Garrard County, Glasgow, Greenup County, Harlan County, Harrison County, Hart County, Henry County, Highlands, Holmes, Hopkins County Central, John Hardin, Knox Central, LaRue County, Lawrence County, Letcher County Central, Lewis County, Lexington Catholic, Lincoln County, Marion County, Mason County, McCracken Central, Mercer County, Nelson County, North Oldham, Paducah Tilghman, Pendleton County, Perry County Central, Pike County Central, Rockcastle County, Rowan County, Russell, Scott, Shelby County, Spencer County, Taylor County, Thomas Nelson, Trigg County, Union County, Waggener, Warren Central, Warren East, Wayne County, Webster County and Western Hills.
