Magoffin County High School Junior, Coltin Vallandingham, collected books to send to Eastern Kentucky schools affected by flooding. Coltin teamed up with several HWMS students, city hall, and the Magoffin County Health Department who collected toys for kids and school supplies to help those affected get back in session as quickly as possible.
Coltin, who was chosen by the Center for Rural Development as a Rogers Scholar, saw a need and took the opportunity to reach out to these schools and engage in an effort that was widespread across his community.
Mr. Vallandingham is a great example of not only a wonderful student, but also an excellent young man that truly supports service in his community and help for others in need.
