North Magoffin archery team qualifies for Nationals

SALYERSVILLE — The North Magoffin Elementary archery team has qualified to compete nationally.

The Panthers competed in the Kentucky NASP State Tournament in Louisville on Friday, March 14.

As a team, North Magoffin Elementary recorded a score of 2,578 in the state tournament. The Panthers shot 41 10s.

Nearly 1,100 boys and 900-plus girls from elementary schools competed in the statewide event.

The North Magoffin Elementary archery team’s individual results (score, ranking, division) from the Kentucky NASP State Tournament were as follows: Weslee Gilliland (247, 160th, elementary boys), Logan Hunley (246, 173rd, elementary boys), Rokie Collins (232, 359th, elementary boys), AJ Nichols (215, 547th, elementary boys), Cruz Minix (211, 606th, elementary boys), Layla Howard (209, 493rd, elementary girls), Harper Dyer (207, 521st, elementary girls), Kendyl Minix (207, 522nd, elementary girls), Sophia Elsea (204, 534th, elementary girls), Addyson Lovely (203, 548th, elementary girls), Brison Russell (199, 727th, elementary girls), Payton Goode (198, 738th, elementary girls), Makenzi Roades (172, 775th, elementary girls).

Coaches Shane and Megan Dyer guide the North Magoffin Elementary archery team. The Panthers are preparing to compete in the Nationals.
