Ollie James Watts, Jr., 79 went to be with the Lord, October 23, 2021, at his home in Salyersville, Ky. surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 11, 1942 in Sassafras, Ky. the son of the late Ollie and Zeda Cornett Watts.
Ollie was married to Barbara Sue Hylton, his high school sweetheart, for 60 years and with her by his side he faithfully served 32 years as Pastor of Brushy Fork Missionary Baptist Church, in Gunlock, Ky.. He was a man of great vision and established multiple successful businesses. Ollie supported and worked in the community throughout his life with The Rock Crusades, REACH (Reaching Every Addict for Christ), Kentucky Mission Bible Training Center, and KY-ASAP (Agency for Substance Abuse Policy) with the Magoffin County Health Department.
Ollie is survived by his wife Sue, two daughters, Deborah Lynn and her husband Mark Scott, Lisa Marie and her husband William Paul Perkins; one brother Robert Taylor Watts and his wife Reva, five sisters Miriam Bennett, Patricia and her husband Manford King, Wanda and her husband Addis Younce, Vivian and her husband Jim Hoskins, Carolyn and her husband Joey Isaac; six grandchildren J.D. Salisbury, Tiffany and her husband Daniel Spears, Isaac Hayden Perkins and his fiance Tuwania Conley, Crystal and her husband Miles Flint Puckett, Bradford Ryan Blair and his fiance Shonda Honeycutt, Paul Brandon and his wife Tara Perkins; And ten great grandchildren, Kelci and Chloe Salisbury, Josten and Chase Arnett, Xavier and Logan Puckett, Carson and Parker Honeycutt, Caleb and Jordyn Blair.
A celebration of life was held Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Brushy Fork Missionary Baptist Church in Gunlock, Ky. with Doug Wireman and William Paul Perkins officiating. Burial followed at the Robert S. Cornett Cemetery, Sassafras, Ky.
