Also announced recently as another sign things may be getting back to normal, the City of Salyersville will be holding Fourth of July events this year, with a watermelon social on Friday, July 2, a parade on Saturday, July 3, music at the park after the parade and a $20,000-fireworks display Saturday night, with the county chipping in to make this year’s display bigger and better. This year’s Community Day will be held on Saturday, August 21, and Heritage Days will start the Wednesday before Labor Day weekend, with pageants and the usual events being planned now.
