Robert “RC” Owens, 82 of Salyersville passed away on Thursday at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky. He was born September 04, 1940 in Royalton, Kentucky, to the late John Morgan and Ida Poe Owens.
Survived by his wife, Rotha Jean Rigsby Owens, three sons, Neal (Tom) Owens of Pikeville, Kentucky, Kevin (Melinda) Owens, Robert Morgan “Robbie” (Farrah) Owens, both of Salyersville, Kentucky, two sisters, Vonda Noble (Clay) of North Judson, Indiana, LaGonda (Mason) Tackett of Davenport, Florida, eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, RC is preceded in death by one daughter, Jeanna Suzanne Owens, grandparents, Jasper and Lena Stone Owens, William and Aggie Jordan Poe, thirteen siblings, Florence Watts, Tinsley “T.G.” Owens, Daniel Owens, Barry E. Owens, Lawrence Owens, Gleason Owens, Jane Owens, Herschel Owens, Ruby Owens, Lena Owens, Bureta Owens, and two infants.
Funeral services for RC were conducted Sunday, April 30, 2023 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Greg Minix and Price Porter officiating. Burial followed in the Lee Rigsby Cemetery, at Bee Tree, Kentucky.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
