Roger Hembree, age 71 of Huntsville, TN passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at his home with his loving wife by his side. He was born in Scott County, TN on May 16, 1951. He was a longstanding member of the Antioch Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louise Vanderpool and William Foster and Clara Hembree; and daughter, Amanda Rae Hembree.
Roger is survived by his wife, Gertrude Hembree; son, James Lowe; grandson, Elijah Lowe; brothers, Edward and Gina Vanderpool, Dean and Mickie Hembree; sisters, Kathy and Ted Harbin, Jeanette and Sam Lyons, Darlene and Anthony Lynch, Mary and Dennis Stivers, Sharon Canada, Donna Sue and David Lowe, Teresa and Bill Miller; special friends, Gregory and Gerald Dyer of Salyersville, KY; many other relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the Hembree family on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. at the Antioch Baptist Church with Bro. Carlie Duncan officiating. Music will be provided by the Antioch Choir.
Committal service will follow in the Riverview Cemetery in the Smoky Junction community. Pallbearers will be: Adam McGee, George Harless, Chester Smithers, Tony Harness, Riley Lowe, and Joe Lowe. Honorary pallbearers will be: Sherwood Hembree, James Lowe, Elijah Lowe, and Sterling Lowe.
