Ronald “Ronnie” James Hensley

Ronald “Ronnie” James Hensley age 50 of Morehead, Kentucky formally of Salyersville, was born April 20, 1971, and departed this life, to begin his eternal walk with Jesus, at his home on November 12, 2021.

Ronnie is the son of the late Ronald Hensley and survived by his mother Vivian Watts Hoskins and stepfather Jim Hoskins. He has one half-brother Jeremy Brent Holbrook of Dallas, Texas; one stepbrother Robbie Hoskins of Salyersville, Ky, and a host of loved ones (Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and special friends) that will miss him and are looking forward to the day they will join him in eternity. We have comfort in knowing Ronnie has joined his beloved grandparents Charles and Lillie Belle Howes Hensley; Ollie and Zeda Cornett Watts; his father Ronald Hensley; his uncles Donald and Jerry Hensley; Paul Hudson Salyer, Larry Edward Bennett, Ollie James Watts; and his beloved cousin Heather Jo Hensley.

Ronnie accepted Jesus as his Savior at the tender age of eleven (11), was baptized and a member of the Salyersville First Baptist Church. He always knew he was created with a God given purpose and several times during his life he rededicated himself to follow Jesus. In all of life’s struggles he drew his strength from on high to overcome challenges. In his later years, his love for the Lord abounded and was expressed in singing awesome praise and worship songs to his father in heaven.

He has always been the love and laughter to those who knew him deeply. His smiles, encouraging words, and fun-loving ways would uplift even a total stranger, of whom he reached out to without hesitancy, throughout his daily walk. He loved deeply and unconditionally! He will always be remembered for his joy and hope that he imparted in those who crossed his path.

A celebration of Ronnie’s life was held Wednesday, November 17 officiated by Doug Wireman and William Paul Perkins at the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel in Salyersville.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to: The Kentucky Mission Bible Training Center 266 Parkway Drive, Salyersville, Ky. 41465; or REACH, PO Box 264, Salyersville, Ky. 41465

Arrangements are under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
