Royalton Community Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday

HALF MOUNTAIN – The Royalton Community Easter Egg Hunt is slated for this Saturday, with plenty of fun and entertainment for all ages on the itinerary for the April 16 event.

The Royalton Community Council, partnered with Licking River Baptist Church, is planning their first Easter egg hunt since the pandemic, with the event planned for Saturday, April 16 at the Puncheon Battlefield Community Park, at Half Mountain across from South Magoffin Elementary.

The event is free to the public and open for all ages, offering a grilled hotdog lunch, entertainment, games, and a bouncy village. Activities will include spoon races, three-legged race, cornhole and much more.

The grills will be fired up at noon and the egg hunt starts at 2 p.m., with the park reserved until 4 p.m. for all events. The egg hunt will have different age categories, with girls and boys bikes for 6 and under, girls and boys bikes for 6 to 12 and gift cards for participants over 12 as some of the top prizes.

All candidates are invited to give a $100 donation to put up signs at the event and/or volunteer at the event.

As it stands, the group has over 5,000 eggs that will be hidden for the event, thought they still need donations of candy, money and volunteer time, with anyone interested in donating or helping out encouraged to call Marlene at the Magoffin County Senior Citizens Center at 606-349-5152, or to drop off donations at the Senior Center, located in the Lloyd M. Hall Community Center in downtown Salyersville.

Come out and enjoy this free event with your family on Saturday, April 16, from noon until 4 p.m.
